Column from PC Magazine: Will Apple Adopt Windows? John C. Dvorak is on TWIT and talked about his article on last weeks show. I personally can't see Apple switching to Windows. My primary reason, the apps will be on the Internet and the need for the OS to manage local applications won't be as critical. I think Windows will begin to lose marketshare at this point regardless of what Apple does. There will be too many viable OSs then can run web-based apps. Yesterday, Bill Gates was pushing the investment Microsoft has been making in security and I think that will interest a lot businesses, but the consumer is just not that willing to pay top dollar for a machine that is all about security.
Apple should stay the course and streamline the OS to only facilitate the running of web-based applications.
