Learning 2.0

I am going to be attending a Learning 2.0 webinar (although it appears that the technology has broken down and we will be having a conference call.) It should be an interesting way to spend my lunch hour. It had to pay for it, so I guess they haven't heard about the inherently free part of web 2.0 yet. I'll try to bring it up;)

I am still working to understand how the technologies of web 2.0 directly relate to learning 2.0, but I think it becomes more clear to me the more these tools and technologies get integrated into my life. I have not only adopted them, the tools of the past are slowly fading away. This becomes obvious to me when I look for past resources or when I notice that MS Office tools are not in my recently used menus.

Back to Learning 2.0... some of the interesting things to me are how the SME or specialists can play a support role in the training process. Will we be able to get them to produce the media required to educate others? Will their content get directly integrated into the process or will we need to organize it or design it? Will the informal and formal learning merge into one category?

As we create new learning environments we will continue to balance every aspect of ecosphere of learning, however, these new technologies could play a role in creating effeciencies. The simple addition of adding a blogesphere search through technorati with a google search of the web has been simple powerful.

Not sure where I was headed, I just wanted to share. I will try to provide a recap of the event.

  3. Check out Erudix. It is a global community of students, professors and researchers. You can search for theses, dissertations, lecture notes and papers. A free wiki will also be available from September. I hope you will like it.
