A Day of Football

I spent all day yesterday preparing for, attending, and discussing football games. A relatively, low-tech activity for me, although I did have meTreo 650 with me at the Mountaineer game checking my mountaineer stats as they crushed Syracuse. I did take a moment or two to check my email and read the headlines of my feeds through google reader.

It is interesting to me how activities become part of your "daily" routine, compared to things that you do when you have time. For me, checking my feeds is certainly becoming an important part of my daily process. One reason for this behavior change is that you can now get so many things through RSS. I can now monitor my projects through Basecamp, my learning activities through LearningFlow and check the pulse of the elearning blogosphere. I had seen some services in the past that offered your email through RSS. I think this might be a reasonable approach, I'll have to go back and look at that again.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Sometimes I think it's wrong of me to make RSS a part of my daily routine. I act like missing a day of reading through my feeds is like missing a day of food. I don't know that I should put things like that so high up on my list of "things to do" for the day, but I often do.
